Jodie Prenger ‘Nancy' the Star of the West End Show Oliver Taking part in a show such as Oliver, you get to meet the most extraordinary people, one of them was a young man called Toby. Then speaking to his Barry and Kelly his parents I found out about microphthalmia (small formed eyes), anophthalmia (no eyes) and coloboma (sight problems). This is something I never knew about, but reading about it and also learning more from MACS, I very proudly became a patron. For me it's a total honour to be invited not only into a charity but one big family. It's great to see everyone working together to make such a big difference in peoples life's. Rt Hon David Blunkett MP "Since my first contact with MACS at a major fundraising event, I've been full of admiration for both the youngsters and their parents and carers - working for each other and through MACS. By giving personal support, and thereby enabling everyone to cope practically and emotionally, MACS is offering positive mutual self help - and at the same time raising the profile, providing a campaign tool for awareness, and gaining wider support and change from public agencies. I hope everyone who can, will give what they can, to help MACS build and develop in order to offer the help, advice and intervention which is needed." |
