frances Bush Wednesday, January 10, 2007 21:16:25	Subject: Charge Syndrome Message: My son Dominic has partial Charge syndrome. He has alwaysn suffered from constipation but it is recently getting worse and his medication is being increased. Does anyone know if constipation is typical of charge sufferers? I would be interested to hear about anyone else's experiences with this.

He suffered terribly from constipation up until about 18mths ago when they changed his medication to Movicol. It worked wonders and now he no longer takes any meds for constipation unless he gets a bit constipated and we give him a dose of Movicol and that usually does the trick.He also has 3 scoops of Benefibre mixed with water daily and is on Nurtini Energy Multifibre feed (he is tube fed) which helps. I do know that constipation can be a common problem with CHARGE syndrome :( It might be worth asking his paed to prescribe Movicol if you haven't tried it before. Good luck
