MACS is in the fortunate position to provide help to all MACS families in the way of requests for items that will help your child in everyday life. Be it laptops, computer programs, talking phones, lessons, in fact the types of requests are endless and cover many areas.

It is only correct that we explain the procedure that we take to make decisions regarding the approval of these grants. You need JavaScript enabled to view it detailing, name, age of child, item requested, projected cost if known, supplier and amount requested i.e. full amount or a donation towards the total cost.

• The details are then sent to all trustees.
• The request will then be decided at the next meeting of trustees. We have 3-4 meetings a year.
• If the request is urgent then it may be decided out of the meetings by email between all trustees.
• Only one request will be considered from a MACS family at one time and if granted no other request can be made in the next 12 month’s from date of agreement.
• Once goods are purchased and the warranty expires all costs are to be covered by the applicant’s family.

We would also be grateful if once you have been given a grant that you could email a short story about the benefits the item has given along with a picture so that we can include it in our newsletter. All grants are recorded in our yearly accounts and will include only the amount, cost and first name of recipient.
